A key department of a globally top-9-ranked university (QS World Rankings, 2026), the UCL School of Management focuses its research and teaching on key areas of Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Analytics, preparing students to make an immediate impact in the business world.

The MSc Creativity, Innovation and Leadership at the UCL School of Management is a one‑year, full‑time programme designed to develop creative, critical and collaborative thinking for leading change and innovation in organisations across sectors.

Focus and Ethos

The programme combines creativity research, innovation management and leadership studies to help students design organisational processes, structures and cultures that support new ideas and problem‑solving. It is explicitly positioned as a response to employers’ demand for skills, such as analytical and creative thinking, collaboration and people management.

Curriculum

Core modules typically cover creative problem-solving, organising for creativity, leadership and managing diversity, collaborative design and innovation practices. Teaching is highly interactive, using case studies, group projects and real‑world briefs, and culminates in a dissertation or applied project often linked to an external organisation or real organisational challenge.

Skills and Outcomes

Graduates are trained to diagnose when creative approaches are needed, reframe complex problems, and apply psychological and organisational frameworks to design implementable solutions. The programme aims to produce future leaders who can build inclusive, high‑performing teams and drive innovation in environments characterised by change and uncertainty.

Career Directions

The programme is intended to be sector‑agnostic, preparing students for roles in consultancy, corporate innovation, creative industries, government and non‑profits where innovation, change leadership and cross‑functional collaboration are central. Employers value the mix of creative thinking, critical analysis and practical leadership skills that the programme emphasises.
