Teaching Assistants

About the Role and About You

Teaching Assistants (TAs) will supplement academic lectures through the delivery of group teaching (for example, in seminars and workshops) and associated duties for students taking modules in the School of Management. Associated duties may include marking of coursework and exams.

The post holder will report to the leader of the module (s) they support, and the appointment will be available from 21st September 2026 to 30 June 2027.

About the role

This role supports Professor Angela Aristidou’s research programme on AI and the Economy, focusing on how smaller, less resourced organisations adopt artificial intelligence. The research aims to understand barriers to AI adoption, evaluate the impact of low-cost interventions, and assess outcomes such as AI readiness, behaviour changes, and business performance over time.

The postholder will assist with a range of research activities, including data collection, curation, merging, analysis, and reporting. Data sources include regular customised surveys, administrative datasets (e.g. Beauhurst and Companies House), and company strategy documents.

This is a fixed-term position to begin as soon as possible until 6th April 2027.

Part-time: up to 18.25 hours per week- variable (depending on project timetable)

Salary: UCL Grade 6, £19.14 per hour (including London Allowance)

About you

The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as social science, engineering, statistics, or computer science, and will have experience in data collection, processing, and analysing survey-based data. They will demonstrate experience in managing large databases and supporting academic research, alongside excellent working knowledge of Qualtrics and the Microsoft Office Suite. A high level of literacy and numeracy is essential, as is a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

The candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling them to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders involved in the research project. They will be able to meet time-critical deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Programme Administrator (Postgraduate) INTERNAL ONLY

About the role

The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective administration of all teaching and learning activities related to the designated programme(s). This will include managing enquiries, applications, inductions, module selections, student queries, assessments, student support, committees, and events.

They will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient, and responsive service to current and prospective students, alumni, and staff across the designated programmes and modules. The role will also contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the School of Management’s Teaching and Learning Support Team.

Please note that this is a job share for 2.5 days per week: Wednesdays (ideally PM), Thursdays, and Fridays.

Salary details – UCL Grade 7 £43,981 to £52,586 pro rata (including London Allowance)

About you

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification, or substantial relevant experience in a similar role. They will also have previous experience of working in teaching and learning administration within a Higher Education environment, along with proven experience of enhancing the student lifecycle from application through to graduation.

Familiarity with Moodle or similar virtual learning environments is essential, as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with and support a wide range of stakeholders.
