
Undergraduate BSc Information Management for Business (IMB) students and postgraduate students from across the UCL School of Management MSc programmes recently visited AlphaSights’ Global Headquarters in London, gaining valuable insights into the fast-paced world of knowledge services and client consulting.
AlphaSights is a leading global knowledge-on-demand firm that connects clients with industry experts to deliver the insights they need to make better, faster business decisions. For many students, the visit offered “an incredibly insightful day packed with valuable learning and networking opportunities,” as one participant described.
The visit began with a tour of AlphaSights’ impressive global headquarters, giving students a sense of the company’s dynamic, collaborative work environment. From the open-plan floors to the bustling client service teams, students were able to see what one student called “a great window into how the team approaches problem-solving and delivers value to clients.”
Following the tour, Clara Mondragon, Manager of Private Equity Accounts and UCL alumna, led a highly engaging workshop. Clara offered an inside look at how AlphaSights supports clients — from private equity firms to global corporates — by sourcing expert knowledge to inform critical business decisions. Her session helped students connect their academic learning to real-world consulting and client engagement practices.
Students then heard from Teresa Ries, Talent Acquisition Associate and UCL alumna, who hosted the group and shared practical insights into the company’s recruitment process, professional development opportunities, and the attributes AlphaSights looks for in potential hires. The visit concluded with an engaging panel discussion featuring Associate Consultants Julia Podkolinski Thomas, Christina Nessim, and Brahim Ben Yedder, all UCL alumni. They spoke candidly about their journeys from university to AlphaSights, sharing experiences of career growth, collaboration, and client impact.
During the networking session that followed, students had the chance to ask questions, seek advice, and build connections with the panel and AlphaSights’ team — an invaluable opportunity to explore career pathways and professional life within a global firm.
